Proper care of your instruments should be adhered to at all times to maximise the functional life span of each instrument. It is recommended that each instrument is cleaned immediately after use with particular care taken to areas such as hinges, cutting edges, latches and locks. It is recommended that a surgical instrument appropriate detergent is used. Following cleaning, the instruments should be fully dried.
Note: Certain fluids, including blood and saline are corrosive to stainless steel instruments and can cause pitting and rusting if allowed to remain on instruments for prolonged lengths of time.
Sterilisation
The preferred method of sterilisation of your DBIO instruments is steam autoclaving at 134°C.
Handling
Surgical instruments have many sharp edges and fine points. Special care should be take at all times when handling, transporting, and storing your instruments.
Important
All DBIO instruments are packed and delivered in non-sterile packaging. It is highly recommended that all instruments being used for sterile procedures firstly be washed and sterilised.
*It is recommend that a heat resistant instrument oil be periodically applied to hinges, locks and joints.
